Monica Hinton is a registered clinical social worker. Her research focuses on the facilitators to accessing mental health care for military members, an extension of her MSW grounded theory research on resilience despite childhood trauma. Her 15 years of clinical experience includes work in both non-profit & government agencies in mental health (specializing in eating disorders & trauma) and her workshop presentations and publications over the past 10 years include local, national and international venues. Dr. Hinton currently provides individual and couple therapy to active duty and retired Canadian Armed Forces members and she has been in private practice for the past 13 years. She regularly practices yoga, is a foster parent for rescued felines, and is an avid traveller who loves to stay challenged both physically & mentally.
