Terence T. Gorski was the developer and president of The Gorski-CENAPS® Corporation that he founded in 1982. Gorski-CENAPS® is training and consultation agency specializing in recovery from addictive disease and relapse prevention therapy. Gorski-CENAPS® continues to offer a wide range of evidenced-based Behavioral Health materials focusing on Relapse Prevention, Recovery, Addiction, Mental Illness, and health and wellness.
Mr. Gorski was a pioneer in the development of Relapse Prevention Therapy, he has achieved international acclaim for his work. He is considered a leader and authority in the addiction, behavioral health, social services, and correctional industries for his work in recovery and relapse prevention. He also received several very impressive National and International acknowledgements and awards for his years of service and accomplishments in addiction treatment and relapse prevention.
Mr. Gorski is also an internationally recognized expert on substance abuse, mental health, violence, & crime. He was probably best known for his contributions to relapse prevention, managing chemically dependent offenders, and developing community-based teams for managing the problems of alcohol, drugs, violence, and crime. His practical approach to recovery and relapse prevention is based on almost fifty years of experience as a therapist, supervisor, program administrator, and consultant.
Mr. Gorski has become a leading authority on the use of evidence-based models for preventing relapse. His unique approach to treatment system development is biopsychosocial in nature and integrates the use of cognitive, affective, behavioral, family, and community recovery methods. His greatest talent is his ability to break down complex treatment and recovery processes into clear and simple steps that can be used by professionals working with addicted people in addiction treatment programs, mental health centers, and the criminal justice system.
Mr. Gorski was a prolific author of numerous books, audio, and videotapes, including Passages Through Recovery, Staying Sober and the Staying Sober Workbook, The Relapse Prevention Therapy Workbook, the Denial Management Counseling Workbook, and the Denial Management Counseling Professional Guide.
