Letter from the Editors – 8th Edition

Greetings to You in 2010!

We begin the New Year with our 8th edition and a plan for expanded services.  We will begin offering our members more exposure with the addition of Member Profile Articles.  Members may submit articles for a Member Profile which will be featured on the website. In this 500 word article you may describe your services, philosophy, feature workshops, post an interview, or whatever content that will help others know you and what you have to offer.  Postings will occur on a first come first serve basis, so get busy and submit Member Profiles to submissions@recoveryview.com.

In this edition we are most fortunate to have our headline article by an author who is a pioneer in the profession of addiction, codependency and recovery: Sharon W. Cruse invites us to more energy by telling us stories of resilience, hope and change.  Recovery is more than putting down destructive chemicals and behaviors.  It is being patient with small increments of change and discovering that recovery and surrender are the keys to a fulfilling and joyful life.

Our featured article by Patricia O’Gorman and Phil Diaz MSW offer Self Parenting guidelines to avoid relapse, which is rooted in the positive psychology movement.  Moving past painful memories and feeling from childhood is possible while learning to comfort self.

The first week of February is COA (Children of Alcoholics) week.  Tian Dayton, one of our special authors has dedicated her career to helping people who have experienced the sometimes conflicting effects of being raised in an alcoholic home.

Other topics in this edition include parity, healthcare, souldrama around the world, Reichian theory of psychology and Spiritual Transformation or Stagnation: The Story of the 5 M’s.  Enjoy the diversity of what is offered. We hope to expand your professional development, your daily practice with clients and your practice of self care.

We wish you the best in 2010.  We are always looking for articles from a variety of authors, so please consider sharing your talents with us.

Blessings,

Jim and Josie Herndon
